Ton Klomp offers clients profit-focused expertise in independent oil trading, trading around refinery operations, implementation of risk management systems, refining and storage asset acquisitions, and management of storage and terminal operations. Ton began his career trading with Cargill. Ton then moved to Goldman Sachs, where he managed the gasoil trading desk for J. Aron & Co. (UK), J. Aron’s oil trading operations in Singapore, and then the commercial trading around the Euro-Splitter condensate refinery in Rotterdam. Ton left Goldman Sachs to join Petroplus, where he served on Petroplus’ acquisition team and developed the trading operations around a growing number of Petroplus refineries. Prior to joining Downstream Advisors, Ton served eleven years as an executive board member of Mercuria Energy as well as serving as CEO of Mercuria’s storage and terminal subsidiary (Vesta Terminals B.V.).
